Tatum exudes peace and creativity while demonstrating a posture of learning and growth towards her music therapy practice.  This unique combination allows her to work with individuals of all ages and abilities while fiercely advocating for the people she works with each week.  With her expansive background experiences, we look forward to seeing what she can do with you or your loved one through music therapy.

Originally from a small town in Wisconsin, Tatum grew up in the Midwest and attended Augsburg University where she received a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and minored in Psychology.  She completed her 1,200 hour internship with Allina Home Health and Hospice working with adults in hospice care.  Additionally, Tatum took part in Augsburg's Chunmaio Pediatric Burn Camp in Chongqing, China where she worked alongside other Music Therapists from China, Taiwan, and the US for children and teens who experienced burns.  Furthermore, Tatum has experience working with individuals of all ages with Autism, Attention Deficit Disorders, Down Syndrome, Learning and Intellectual disabilities, genetic disorders, stroke, and Dementia/Alzheimer's/Parkinson's Disease.  With each and every client, Tatum strives to build rapport and create strong therapeutic relationships.  She is also passionate about helping clients to work towards long-term goals while also being adaptable to meet clients where they are at each session.

Tatum Kline joined the Alliance Music Therapy team in July 2022 as an independent contractor to assist in furthering our team’s reach and expand the populations we provide services for in the Elk River and surrounding township areas and even remotely via telehealth.  With her exceptional musical and leadership skills, she has also worked in various positions and settings and even across state lines - from a substitute school age teacher here in the Twin Cities to an Activity Director in memory care, assisted living, and post-acute care in Lakewood, Colorado.  With these experiences, Tatum possesses both clinical and behind the scenes administrative skills which is demonstrated through her incredible resourcefulness, competence, and reliability.  She shares a calming presence with those she meets and a reassuring confidence that will allow you to feel a peace of mind and security while in her care.

In her free time, Tatum loves to go camping and on backpacking trips.  She is currently working her way through the entire Superior Hiking Trail, one segment at a time!  She also enjoys cooking and baking, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Banjo.

My sister loves her sessions with Tatum! She looks forward to Friday's. Since she had been attending, she is happier throughout the week as well.  She is feeling her emotions and has expressed interest in things she didn't want to do before due to depression. Tatum is amazing!
