Kate has loved music their whole life! Their mom would tell them stories of them singing in the backseat of their van growing up, and they never lost the love of singing!  Kate is excited to be part of our Alliance Music Therapy team and collaborating with families and clients!

Kate joined the Alliance Music Therapy team in March 2025 as an independent contractor to assist in furthering our team’s reach and expand the populations we provide services for.  Kate has been a Board-Certified (MT-BC) Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) since Spring 2014.  They graduated from Colorado University after completing a Master's Degree in Music Therapy under the direction of Dr. Michael Thaut.  Kate is also back in graduate school in their second year in order to obtain a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling!

 

As you can see, they are a human who loves to learn as they also have a post-grad training in Play Therapy and Art Therapy.  Kate has spent most of their career working with individuals in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit all the way up the lifespan to young adults and has supported clients with various diagnoses including cancer, Down Syndrome, attention deficit disorders, Autism, learning and intellectual disabilities, genetic disorders, and mental health diagnoses.​

In their free time, they enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons (both as a player and as a DM), spending time with their children and their polycule, and napping with their four orange cats.
