Madison joined Alliance Music Therapy in May of 2020. Her passion for working with others, combined with her love of music, led her to pursue a career in Music Therapy. Madison grew up in rural South Dakota, but moved to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy. During her education, Madison was able to conduct music therapy research on a surgical oncology unit, followed by her six month clinical internship at Park Nicollet Health Services working with individuals at Methodist Hospital, Frauenshuh Cancer Center, Struthers Parkinson’s Center, Melrose Center for Eating Disorders, and Park Nicollet Home Hospice Services.
Madison has always found music to be a vital part of her life. A vocalist by trade, Madison has also been trained on guitar, piano, ukulele, trumpet, and has taught herself various other instruments including the reverie harp, and most recently, the accordion. Her favorite part of being a music therapist is the connection she is able to make with individuals and their families through the use of music that allows them to express themselves and succeed in achieving their goals.
Madison enjoys spending time with her husband Ryan on their hobby farm where they enjoy the company of cows, goats, chickens, and their dog, Bella. She also enjoys crafty projects like embroidering and soap and candle making. Madison likes to play tennis, swim, go camping, check out new restaurants and coffee shops, and cuddle up on the couch with a cup of tea, a warm blanket, and a good book or favorite TV show.
Words will never fully be able to express to you how much of an impact Madison had on us while we were going through something so difficult.
